By aligning around common standards, the group aims to help governments, businesses and users trust that digital infrastructure and emerging technologies are developed and operated responsibly.
Why was the alliance was created?
The launch of the alliance reflects a rapidly evolving technology landscape as digital infrastructure becomes more complex and globally interconnected, governments and customers are seeking greater reliability and resilience from the companies that build and operate these technologies.
At the same time, concerns about privacy, data protection and the societal impact of emerging technologies have led to growing scrutiny of how technology is developed and deployed.
The alliance’s founders say collaboration across the technology stack is essential to address these concerns and to ensure that technological innovation continues to deliver economic and social benefits.
The five principles behind trusted technology
Members of the Trusted Tech Alliance have committed to five core principles that define how trusted technology providers should develop, deploy and operate their systems.
1. Transparent corporate governance and ethical conduct
Companies commit to strong corporate governance and ethical business practices designed to ensure accountability and transparency.
2. Secure development and operational transparency
Members agree to develop and operate technologies securely throughout their lifecycle, including independent assessments and transparent operational practices.
3. Robust supply chain and security oversight
Alliance members commit to maintaining strong oversight of their supply chains and holding suppliers to high global security and quality standards.
4. An open and resilient digital ecosystem
The alliance supports a digital environment that is open, cooperative and inclusive while encouraging innovation and interoperability across technologies.
5. Respect for the rule of law and data protection
Members agree to operate in accordance with legal frameworks and to uphold strong protections for data privacy and security.
