Cognizant has launched a dedicated EMEA AI Unit designed to help organisations move from artificial intelligence (AI) pilots to large-scale deployment. The new business unit combines advisory, engineering and delivery capabilities to support enterprises developing and operating agentic AI solutions across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

New Unit Targets Enterprise AI Scale

The EMEA AI Unit has been established as part of Cognizant’s AI Builder strategy and is intended to help organisations translate AI investment into measurable business outcomes.

According to the company, the unit will provide platform-neutral expertise, enabling organisations to build, deploy and operate agentic AI solutions aligned with their business requirements rather than a single cloud platform, AI model or technology vendor.

Delivery Model Supports AI Adoption

At the centre of the launch is Cognizant’s Frontier Deployed Engineering offering, a delivery model designed to support organisations at different stages of AI maturity.

The model comprises three service offerings.

  • Foundation focuses on AI strategy, governance, technology selection and early-stage prototypes.
  • Accelerate is designed to help organisations identify, develop and deploy high-value AI use cases into production.
  • Transform supports wider business transformation through multi-agent delivery teams that redesign and automate end-to-end workflows while maintaining accountability for operational performance.

Focus On Moving AI Into Production

Cognizant said the new unit is already supporting organisations across multiple industries.

The company is working with a European online fashion retailer to move established AI use cases into production through an AI factory model intended to reduce development cycles from months to days. The programme includes agentic AI workflows across supply chain, inventory management, returns, customer experience and margin protection.

Cognizant is also collaborating with a global pharmaceutical company to apply multi-agent AI systems across research and development (R&D), including drug discovery, clinical trial design and regulatory preparation.

Platform-Neutral Approach to Enterprise AI

According to Cognizant, the EMEA AI Unit is designed to help organisations adopt AI without becoming dependent on a single technology ecosystem.

The company said its AI Builder approach combines business expertise, engineering capabilities and technology platforms to develop AI systems tailored to customers’ operational requirements. It also aims to help organisations address regional considerations including data sovereignty, regulatory compliance and sector-specific operating requirements.

“Across EMEA, many organizations are enthusiastic about AI but are still working out how to turn that momentum into real business value,” said Manoj Mehta, President, EMEA, Cognizant.

“The EMEA AI Unit reflects Cognizant’s AI Builder strategy by bringing together the people, platforms and engineering expertise needed to move clients from pilots to payoff. Our approach is neutral by design: we work across clouds, models and ecosystems so clients can build agentic AI solutions that fit their business, integrate into operations and support accountability for outcomes.”
