Richard Kyania, Country Head, Kenya at Trivitron Healthcare Africa, discusses his organisation’s operations in Kenya and across the continent.

INTRODUCTION

“We offer a complete solution when it comes to any hospital requirement thereby ensuring advanced technology, equipment and services that are highly accessible and affordable.”

Richard Kyania, is the Country Head – Kenya at Trivitron Healthcare Africa. His organisation was formed from a joint venture between Trivitron Healthcare India, the largest medtech company of Indian Origin and Investment Funds for Health in Africa (IFHA).

Trivitron aims to boost the healthcare ecosystem of Africa by offering advanced medical modalities and reliable health services. Trivitron manufactures and distributes exceptional medical technology products to around 180 countries, and as a major force in the industry, continuously pursues technological innovation to offer superior clinical benefits at a lower cost.

“We, Trivitron Healthcare Africa, started our direct operations in Kenya in 2018 before moving into Uganda and other Sub-Saharan Africa countries. At present, we are active in more than 15 African countries and establishing ourselves as a preferred and efficient solution provider. We have a very robust organisation in terms of project management, products and support,” discusses Kyania. “We are proving to be a great solution provider for all healthcare requirements for addressing all needs.

“We have just completed equipping the entire AAR Hospital at Nairobi which commenced during the peak pandemic of late 2020 and would definitely stand as a world class facility in Kenya and East Africa with many advanced and first of its kind technology being introduced.”

Indeed, at Trivitron, quality healthcare is considered a fundamental requirement, and the firm operates with a vision to make it available to people of all classes. Since its founding in 1997, Trivitron strives to deliver cost-effective yet best-in-class healthcare solutions. With over two decades of experience in manufacturing and distributing affordable, innovative and accessible products, Trivitron understands its target markets and technological updates.

However, Kyania acknowledges that the availability and price of quality products are much too high. “It’s certainly challenging because there’s a huge demand for these products and even if you do have access, the price is much too high,” he explains. “The aftersales support has always been a challenge and continues to be so. For us, we make products accessible and affordable, and with more than two decades of experience, we are able to bring all those technologies and expertise together to best serve our customers. I believe this approach truly makes us stand out from competitors.”

Trivitron can create a full medical centre or set up a specialised clinic or department which starts from complete imaging department, laboratory diagnostic, intensive care and critical care areas. Under its brownfield project, Trivitron supports medical facilities to expand and upgrade its operations, through advanced medical equipment, layout planning, operational planning and ongoing service support. For the execution of turnkey hospital projects in Africa, Trivitron provides an exclusive products division that significantly contributes to the success of these undertakings. In addition, Trivitron provides a multi-vendor biomedical engineering services division to provide maximum support for healthcare providers across Africa. While Trivitron has also formed academic tie-ups with reputable academic institutions in India and Europe in a bid to offer paramedical and super-speciality support courses.
