The daughter of South Africa's first black President Nelson Mandela has told South African broadcaster SABC that the anti-apartheid icon is putting up a courageous fight from his "deathbed".
Makaziwe Mandela said her father was "still with us, strong, courageous" and that "on his deathbed he is teaching us lessons - lessons in patience, in love, lessons of tolerance."
Mr Mandela is receiving home-based medical care after being discharged from hospital in September following a near three month stay where he was treated for a recurring lung infection.
