Somalia's government has declared Puntland, the north-eastern region hit by a tropical cyclone at the weekend, a disaster area.
Somalia's Interior Minister Abdikarim Hussein Guled said the central government would give $1 million to help communities – many of them poor - devastated by the cyclone.
Unconfirmed reports put the number of dead at 300, while thousands of livestock and hundreds of homes have been destroyed.
Puntland is a semi-autonomous region within Somalia and its President is Abdirahman Farole.
The cyclone, known as 03A, hit the Eyl, Beyla, Dangorayo and Hafun districts.
More floods are expected in the coming days.
